    Not always ;)

Pigpen is right. 650 springs are going to ride rough on a stock truck. 600 is more than enough for a stock truck. Add a bumper and winch to 650s and you are money! If you have full steel armor, you may need 700s. Standing on your bumper is no way to judge anything. The suspension sees inertial loads. Think 150 pounds or more, fired towards the top of your wheel well like a cannon. That is what happens when you hit a rut. No way you can simulate that by going ape on your bumper, I don't care how much fried chicken you have eaten.

OP - initial results, my 650lb springs did not sag after installing the ARB. time will tell if it stays that way.

Icon does not advertise them to be paired with armor but they are a higher spring rate than most run. OME 885s, 887s and the like are 595lbs, Fox uses 600lb, I think king is the same. OME also specs the 886s for armor which are 660lbs. So what he’s saying is that the 650lbs without additional weight can ride rough. Step down to a 600lb coil or add some weight and it should ride better. To run 700lb springs you need to have a lot of extra weight on the front end, minimum of 200lbs to make it not ride like a tank.

I noticed the difference and it makes sense but talking directly with Icon and they told me the 650 coil is for "stock" trucks no additional weight. "Any" added weight needs the 700 coil. So I'm guessing real world use is a bit different, I wonder why they are so uninformed about their own products? I will give them a call and see if they even offer a 600 coil cause I didn't see that option on their website.

I dont think they do offer a 600lb coil. King and Eibach do in 14" I believe or you could try to trade someone with fox stock coils who needs a higher spring rate.

What suspension are you riding on with the 600lbs springs? I’m running Kings with 600lbs and initially wasn’t planning on a bumper and now looking to add one around 120-130lbs. Already have sliders and a skid plate and it rides really nice.

I have Kings 2.5” Rides nice with my bumper and sliders. I also have a supercharger so the extra weight with that probably equals a skid or two maybe. I need to get some beefy skids soon. But I am happy with the ride, it’s still pretty firm even with all the extra weight.

Thanks for the heads up!! Do you have clickers? Wondering if the adjusters will help it a little with the rebound on the weight and make it more firm if needed.

I do not have clickers. Right now I have hardly any prelod and it’s a tad stiff. Nothing harsh, feels like firm/planted. Still soaks up bumps crazy good.
