    I did a thing. Well half a thing. And a stupid thing at that. Was replacing my 275/70/17 Maxx on 17x7.5 FJ wheels with 245/60/20 on 20x7 4Runner wheels yesterday, and got pulled away after doing just the rear two.


    Drove an hour yesterday just fine, but today my brakes failed. Heard a clunk the first couple of times I braked. Then brakes started getting slushy and were soon gone.

    The symptoms point to fluid loss. I peeked under and didn’t see any leaks or anything.

    Sounds similar to what happened to a friend this weekend. My friend took his truck to Texas Tires in Euless to have them rotate his tires on his 2014 Tundra. They torqued the lugs on too tight last time and had to use a cutting torch to cut the lugs and remove the wheel.

    They put new studs in and apparently forgot to tighten down the caliper. It fell off on his way home and he had no idea what the loud noise was. I went over late Saturday night to check it out and found this...
