It was the best $8.40 I ever spent.
I woke up the other day and when I opened the tailgate and it slammed all the way down.
Someone unlatched the cables as they tried to take the tailgate. I placed one of the hose clamps on the right side. I know there have been others that posted about this before but I thought it was worth it to mention it again. Here's the link if you want it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VAXCWO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What does the hose clamp prevent from being done?

Prevents the tailgate from being removed. You probably should get one. These tailgates can be removed in seconds. And lots of people damage theirs making the market for them high.

Pop ‘n’ lock and the hose clamp is a good security combo, IMO.

Be aware that the same thief may be back with better tools - like a cold chisel for the clamp..... You can also use a piece of steel tubing that fits over the external dimensions of the hinge. has to be fitted by removing the hinge yourself - and then reinstalling with the 360º piece of tubing over the joint.

There is little chance that I'll be removing my tailgate - the back-up camera attachment / removal is a problemo I don't need.

Im paying for the amazing experience of using Amazon Prime and not lifting my fat ass out of my chair... totally worth the extra $7.

BRB, I think I hear the door bell.

Yes I could have gotten it cheaper but I didn't feel like going to the store. I also didn't want a regular hose clamp I wanted one that had the " carded turn key" anyone usually has a screwdriver with them and by using this one just makes it a little harder for them to steal it..... I bought this one.. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VAXCWO?ie=UTF8&psc=1
