Mine went up a tad not to long ago. It's just one of those up hill battles you just deal with. Once you invested time into one company why even bother with looking into others. Just pay the diffence and move on. But then again I do have USAA so I know I'm not getting raped.

I checked every insurance company 6 months ago and switched to progressive. Just renewed at $120 more and it's still the cheapest...

Anyone want a 2013 WRX? I'm getting tired of subsidizing everyone's insurance...

It's tough to go on someone else's recommendation as insurance rates are based on demographics and which demographics the insurance company is wanting to insure. @Squeaky Penguin s quoted rates would be of little value to someone on the front range or with a different vehicle or of a different sex/age.

I lived in WY for a year and the cheapest company became the most expensive when I moved back here. Same vehicle same driver different location.

The desired demographics for any particular company are always changing too. If the company you've been with for years decides your demographic is not what they want for whatever reason, they might jack your rates and it's possible you could do much better elsewhere.
Make no mistake.... they have exactly zero loyalty to you. They couldn't care one bit how long you've been with them. They might give a discount for combined policies but so will everyone else. Move your homeowners too if it makes sense. It can really pay to shop around sometimes.
It's also one of the few businesses where I would recommend an independent broker. They can do the shopping for you and it seems that they can often get better rates than you could on your own.

For insurance check with an insurance broker as they have several different company's to choose from and they are not necessarily the big ones like Farmers, Progressive etc. They say you should check on insurance every year since things change. Sometimes even your credit score will have a say in your rates.

Funny. I was just sitting here and thinking about the same shit. I am with Geico and the same thing is happening to me. I haven't been in a crash in 16 years. Haven't had a ticket of any sort in 17. No claims against the house. Never had rental insurance claims. No motorcycle claims. Nonetheless, my insurance increased 300% in a year. Part of it? I live officially in Denver County and as such my rates are climbing just because overall claims have blown up.

Side note: Geico increased my rates from the singular incident of someone stealing something from my truck. At a Park n Ride, no less. I never made a claim...I did report it to law enforcement, though.

    I'm calling USAA this week.

Broker is the only way to go with insurance. The good ones will shop it for you at renewal and give you the recommendations. I was with State Farm for a long time, called a broker a couple years ago and paid a little over $600 less for homeowners and auto and added a million $ umbrella.

Yeap. Thats why I keep a broker for insurance. Takes all the hassle out of it. They get their commission from insurance companies and do not charge you a fee for their service.

We’ve been with the same broker for 15 years now. He’s never steered us wrong.
