I want to take the 'TACOMA' and 'V6' badges off my truck and paint them black.

Any recommendations for taking them off or what paint is best for the job?

    Thanks.

Leave them on and platidip them. There are how to's all over YouTube. I did mine and they still look great after two years.

I personally used plastidip and didn't take the badges off. If you do want to take the badges off use floss to go behind it and some adhesive remover. I recommend goo gone as it doesn't hurt the paint.

Thanks guys. This is a new one to me. I watched a video on you tube, seems straight forward.

    I appreciate your help.

heat gun or blow dryer helps get the goo and badges off easier as well. Don't go crazy with it on your paint though

Just make sure you use goo gone and not goof off. Looks and sounds similar, except one does damage the paint.

These are okay, but if I’m remembering correctly I think the A’s don’t even have the cutout in the opening where they should be.

Also, if you take your stock emblems off... Just have a plan to reapply. It sounds easy to just put 3M until you have to cut around the backs of the letters for instance. What I did was just buy a cheap brand new set on eBay and then applied after painting with Krylon Matte Black. Look amazing and have brand new stock adhesive. Have held up perfectly. To me, it’s the most clean and OEM looking option. Plastids looks okay but I don’t think it looks as good as far as painting a set off the vehicle. If you do remove yours and paint, just remember to line the edges in tape so you will have a reference point to put them back on.
