Thank you all for your replies. I'm not gonna quote because that would be obnoxious. I don't believe the tech deck is an option for me because #firstgenprobs. I'll do some window shopping and get back to ya. Leaning toward the mob as the ram mount mounted to the a pillar is kinda pricey. If I remember right it's over $60. Or maybe more.

I just got out bid on a house in Roseville, we offered 8k over asking figured it was ours. guy from the Bay area offered 50k cash over the appraisal price.

Well my decision just got harder. Mob mount is roughly the same price as doing the a pillar mount. Question about the mob mount @DannyBFresco @LTDSC : do you have to adjust the back knob every time you take the phone out/ put it in? Or is it fairly easy?

for daily use i leave it loose, it doesnt move around and lowers back down on itself. For offroad i put it in place and tighten the knob.

Its easy when i need to get out and snag a pic for the gram

What I have found with the x mounts is the rubber cushion on the arm wears out then you deal with metal sticking out. Once the xmount for my phone is done I will look into a different type of holder for the phone. The one thing that I do like about them is they don't obstruct the inputs on the iphone.

same. leave the knob a little loose and its strong enough to hold the phone in without issues but still quick to remove. off road --> > clock it down.

Does anyone who had the mob mount have a S8?
My concern is the aux cord on the phone is on the lower left side and the mount may block it....

I dont remember spending $60 for the a pillar mount. maybe it was after the motocycle ram ball, ram mount, phone holder. been a while since I did that. :notsure:

problem is pulling the phone off after that cement has dried. You must have to move the phone around in the cab from all the holes in the dash.

Yeah I was at about $40. Plus some time at Ace hardware dicking around with shaft spacers and bolts.

I'm afraid is nothing quite that cool. Same era as Eichler but pretty much just a generic mid-century ranch(?) house.

What they said. I leave the adjuster just barely tightened so that it doesn't rattle. Taking it out and putting it in at that level of tightness is still easy and doesn't require adjustment. I just push the top back down when I put it in and it pulls back up easy when I remove it.

    ...IYKWIM (just for good measure)
