I've had a 2.7 access cab the past few years, and am thinking of upgrading to a 3.5 4DLB and wanted some input on if it's worth the extra 20 grand lol. I'd go for the TRD Off-road and want to pay the truck off but not sure if the changes pencil out. Suggestions?

Not a chance, I'd take the 20g's and get another vehicle that fulfills your power needs. Whats your reasoning for the v6?

Hopefully you don’t have to pay 20K extra considering I didn’t even jump through hoops and got my OR DCSB for 32.5K... I say either way just keep yours if you like it. Unless you need the full doors etc. then don’t waste the extra dough.

I'd keep the 2.7 and take the $20k you'd spend to buy something else. $20k buys some toys to scratch whatever itch you need scratched.

I’ve got 35s on both the truck and trailer but it’s also a regeared auto with 4.88s and I know it’s there when I tow it and probably wouldn’t want to go where I did with that trailer and my 4 banger.

    I have a 2.7 gen 1 double cab - slow as molasses

Also have a 3.5 17 PRO - nothing to write home about

For me it would be 2.7 or 5.7

That's another aspect I like with the v6 .Probably less if a power loss with oversized tires on the v6. I'm tempted to keep the 4banger, regear and air locker, and hold onto it, or swap to the v6 that has a locker already, and grease zerks
