I did it in the coldest weather, in a garage with a propane heater. So lots of extra waiting to dry. If I were to do it again and not be stupid, I'd do it in the summer and it would take probably 12-16 hours?

even after this long, I just look at the truck and admire how the frame looks as good as a new truck. I'll probably have to touch it up later this summer, because I want to keep it looking good.

Wasn’t there a recall on rusted frames?

There was. I got a recall saying "we'll inspect your frame" after I had done days of work restoring it.

I said screw it. I found no holes and the frame looks fine.

I'm about to do add some frame reinforcements and repaint the whole frame, inside and out. Was planning on using the Eastwood stuff; I definitely purchased smaller volumes of their products than you did, but that's just because I wasn't sure how much to use! Looks like I'll be ordering a few more cans, especially of the rubberized stuff.
What are your thoughts on the rubberized vs. normal encapsulator? I was planning on doing regular encapsulator on the frame and coating it with the extreme chassis black to protect it. Then using the rubberized only on things that move/flex.

I'm curious how well your re-painting jobs held up over the years.. I didn't realize how old the thread was initially! Have any pictures? Do you use fluid film or anything to recoat it annually?
