That's interesting. I'd bet we see a turbo'd engine as well as the options for manual transmissions across the line.

I'd also place one bet on something we wont see....a diesel.

Super concept looking, but great to have more players in the game. Let's hope they actaully test the correct emission values :bananadead:

I'd rock one when my 2nd Gen bites the dust in another decade. I've said for a while that if BMW made a midsize pickup, I'd own it. This might be the closest I get for a while.

Not bad looking, but if it runs like my GTI, count me out.

It helps that it's actually pretty big. Bigger the tacoma. Only a few inches less than the F150.

Just a few years back, I heard half of VAG's R&D was into diesel development. It's pretty sad to see where it's at. They were making some fantastic small diesels.

My personal opinion is that they knew exactly what they were doing with regards to skirting emissions standards. I don't question the quality of their diesel engines and (shame on me) I don't really give a damn about that whole scandal. I loved my VW and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Of course they did. But the funny part about all of this is, the 'cheat' was to increase the efficiency of the engine, they were punished to using less fuel.
