I'm thinking black inserts if you will stay with the black tailgate emblems.

After reading about a bumper alignment issue on one of the other threads, I looked at mine and seen I had the same issue:eek:.

Read about the Bed alignment issue, looked at mine, seen I had the same issue .

Read about the transmission and engine shift problems, yep I have the same issue !

    See a trend here TOYOTA!

I'm starting to feel like the old Carol Burnette show where Tim Conway is sitting in the doctor office and every patient that walk in he get the same symtoms

So today I head to dealership with a list of items for them to correct. And to check my electrical system also as my 3 week old truck has almost left me stranded a half dozen time due to weak battery or other electrical issue.

    End results were:

    1. Battery had a bad cell and had thrown a code, new battery installed under warranty.
    2. Re-aligned the bed after first saying didn't know if it could be aligned, after I explained how to do it said they would check into it. Bed was aligned and now looks correct and measure out, under warranty.
    3. Rear bumper pad were adjusted to have matching gaps. They had to disassembly to adjust and broke the black top step pad, but had a new one in stock and replaced under warranty.
    4. Engine and transmission shifting and low RPM stutter, hesitating, or misses were explained as normal by design. And they admitted by bad design and have had several complaints from Tacoma buyers. Did say that the low RPM stutters and hesitations may be part of the bad battery issue. Will see, but I don't think so. They added my complaint to their growing list of others.

While there I did manage to spend $200 on a new bed mat, window visors, touch up paint, and a receiver hitch plug cover:woot:

It’s all part of the fun brother! The battery part sucks (happens), try looking into the bed stiffeners that a few of the companies have to offer - I just had this conversation with a buddy today. The transmission was definitely a concern of mine at first and weirdly enough doesn’t seem to be a problem anymore. (12k miles).

It may seem frustrating but it’ll be the best truck you own! Have fun, and get out there.

Enjoy your weekend brother and stay weird.

    Trevor.

Installed the raised tailgate letters today. I debadged my truck early on, but the stamped tailgate always looked half finished to me.F38A243F-6D7B-4190-B55B-706F39273ADF.jpg 63A7A974-9896-4157-8BDD-6F5D934D3A11.jpg

Gave her a bath today. Some Meguiar’s gold classic, chemical guys vrp on the tires, and 303 on all the black plastic trim. Then took her out on a beautiful Friday night.
