Grom audio cable help!

bestop supertop, rubber bed mat, weathertech floor mats

So I purchased and installed the cable last month, no issues there... worked fine until today, and now the bottom part o the cable that actually attaches to the ipod itself is loose, and causes the sound to cut in and out as I drive over bumps. I messaged grom audio technical help, and made an appointment to see the stealership as well just in case. Anyone have any ideas/experience fixing this? Thanks for any input.

maybe put a little spacer like a folded piece of paper in the crack to make it tighter??

no experiences here, i dont have what you speak of, just offering advice
