    Hey guys,

    So my truck came without a tonneau and I have been trying to find one. I would like to get a soft trim-fold cover and not spend over $300. I have narrowed it down to Rough Country, Gator, or Smittybilt. Anyone have an opinion or other option they would recommend? Free shipping is always a plus or purchase via Amazon.

    Of those choices I would go with the Gator. Have you looked at Tonneau Cover World https://tonneaucoversworld.com/shop-by-category/soft-folding.html. At Tonneau Cover World or other sites that are similar you can negotiate with them on price, and may be able to get a cover that is a little better quality or that has more function for the same price as those that you have linked from Amazon.

    Another source is to try AutoAnything; Mike @eccracer104 may be able to help you out there as well.

    There are a lot of choices when it comes to a Tonneau Cover for these trucks. There is an entire sub-forum about covers and toppers that has a lot of information on the various types that others have used. https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/tonneau-covers-caps-and-shells.198/

    Good luck in your decision, I know that it is not easy to pick out a cover.

    Definitely shop around. You may be able to get a hard cover if you wait long enough and keep search used Facebook/Craigslist

    I've been looking for a stock tri-fold (watching thread too) for awhile, just find it hard to stomach $300-$500+ for something used.

    Yeah, people will hold out for the OEM ones. I was lucky enough to pick up a extang that was brand new basically for $350. Had to drive 3 hrs one way tho
