Curious how you all fund some of these builds and purchases. Just save save save, credit or make a shit ton of money???

I just stop paying my bills. I got my gas cut off twice in the last year.

    I'm not joking.

Save money every month, buy on sale, don’t have kids, have a good job. It all helps.

Edit: And sort through what you really need to do what you want and what you want because it just looks cool.

Take 300 a check and throw it in a savings account for the auto ohh crap fund and goodies.

I have about 5 project cars/trucks going on so where I need to spend money and want to has to be spread equally.

Not married, no kids, really good job, live well below my means. I also held off on buying stuff for my truck until it was paid off. Just something I like to do.

I also constantly browse the forums, FB marketplace, and craigslist for stuff that I want so I can get a good deal on it.

Live below your means. Have a decent job(s).

Shackling the 'instant gratification' bug that the media world has implanted in many is an important thing.

Focus on function before form. Let form come along with a functional improvement.

Can't pay for it? Don't buy it.

Paying interest on a depreciating item makes one a two time loser.

Stay single, stop cruising the TW forum(just kidding) before I got married i had a 2010 jk rubicon fully outfited with all kinds of extras . Probably spent close to 10k in five years on it. And I totally agree with the instant gratification. There’s so many things I want to do to this truck but have to wait and save

Invest in a international product that is in high demand here in the states. Setup a distribution network, managed with an iron fist, and partner with an offshore bank. Good luck.

I fund my projects primarily from scamming the elderly, supplemented by the occasional UPS package theft (if the weather's nice). I've also been looking to hook up with a hackers network, to get in on some of that ransomware cash.

Managed to stay single with no kids at 39, got out of the military at 21, went straight into defense contractor work. Spend 6-9 months in Afghanistan and the other 3-6 months on vacation with no one to answer to. No debt, pay cash if at all possible. The 6-9 months I work, I spend planning my vacations for the other 3-6 months. I get home, grab my camera gear, and go somewhere I haven’t been before. Rinse, repeat.

    1. I walk around my house every couple of months and take pictures of things I do not want/need and sell it. If i have not used something in 1yr or more do i really need it?

    2. I do not do drugs or drink so i can justify spending on my hobby.

    3. I do not give money to any cults/church

    4. Bag my lunch for work days and make my own coffee ☕️ n the morning

    5. No kids

I save. I also don't have kids... LOL Money is easier to save when you are married (two incomes) and no kids (less cash flow).

If I really want something, I save until I get it. If necessary I get more jobs. That's how I paid for my Tacoma.

    Not Enough.
Like a lot of others have said. Single with no kids and live well within my means.

My paychecks aren't anything that would make anyone drop their jaw, but I make a decent living. Bought a nice forclosed house that was more than comfortably affordable, and I keep my "new" debt to a strict minimum. Still paying for stupid mistakes made years ago, but I've been fairly aggressive with it over the last few years, and it will hopefully be paid off by the end of the year (except the house).

I have a lot of friends who ask how I do it. These are the same friends that are upside down in car loans, have 2 or 3 kids, and live in houses that the rent or mortgage payment alone are over double my mortgage and utilities, and have astronomical credit card debt.

I'm not preaching the single with no kids thing by any means. Kids are great. If you want them, do it. Just never dated a girl I wanted to marry, let alone have kids with.

That being said, I'm still friends with my ex. Been a long road, but we were very close friends first, so we're determined to stay friends. I still buy my ex's kids presents for birthdays and Christmas, and little things here and there if I'm traveling somewhere and see something they would like. But not having to feed them and chip in for sports/hobbies/etc definitely helps keep money in my pocket.
