I have four that walk easily and readily on harness. (I’ll try and get a video later this week).

Moved all four of them today just 20 miles to our new and finally permanent new home! The choir sung the whole way...

Question for you cat owners out there:

So I have a kitten we've been raising and she's maybe a year and a half old, still young enough to be trained for certain things. I know cat harnesses exist... Anyone have any advice on getting her use to a cat harness? I'd love to maybe take her for walks, but mostly bring her along on off road tricks because everyone has a off road dog but who has a off road cat

Also probably doesn't help that she's been a indoor cat so far and our other is a outdoor cat, although the kitten definitely has a interest on the outdoors so

Start taking the cat for long drives. Get him used to the car. Usually cats hate being in cars period, usually means the vet or getting something bad. The harness.... buy one and put it on the cat a few hours a day to start. Don't walk the cat at first, but get it associated with the leash. If the cat likes treats, then better for you. Bacon or small piece of tuna usually works if regular prepackaged treats don't work.

I started simply... used the harness (unbuckled) as a toy, dangled it for them, let them play with it. Eventually draped it over them, letting them get used to the feel. Mostly they slinked away and out from under it... after much play and setting it on them, I buckled it up and let them walk around indoors on their own.

I guess the best way to say it is baby steps and let them get used to it, dont force it on them all at once...

I tried the harness when I had the genius idea that I could walk a cat. Mostly there was a lot of bleeding on my part to get him into the harness and then we went for a short drag. That was the end of the harness adventure. :(

Watching the Premier League. It’s their favorite sport considering they’re Manx kittens.
