Anybody have a detached car port they like, and purchased off Amazon or EBay etc.?
    10 / 12 x 20?
I want something that will last a few years. Not much rain here, but never ending sunlight and dust.

That's gonna cost you around 2~3k. For your size. Buy lumber in home depot, build your self.

Or just buy some five gallon buckets, bury them even with the ground. Place the steel structure so the runners cross over the bucket. Fill the buckets with concrete, add U-bolts (threads down) into wet concrete and over steel runners. When the concrete cures, you now have ground anchors.

Spend the money and rent a garage

You can even file an LLC, start a business, wrench and work and file a loss the first 3 years and save a shit ton on taxes.

    Get a garage

So if he rents a garage ....he should walk home and to it in the AM? And what does he do if he needs to go and grab something at the store ???

Go with the screw in anchors. You will break your rope before the anchors. While the concrete idea seems like a good one I have seen canopies launched in a storm and they took the two motorcycles they were tied to and flung them like they were toys. That was a 10x10.

Thank you for all the responses!
And the humor! Going to build one in the near future. But I have a master bathroom, enclosed deck, re-roof, doors, and landscaping to do first.

More like 3-4K because when I build I’m going 12x20 w/ a decent roof. Redwood would be more.
Looking for more of a temporary solution but I might just go for it. Add solar too because I get direct sunlight all day.

I might need to. Not sure how I’m going to survive a lot of these tax changes.

Ha.... Nobody like the add on taxes. Earn the labor. Be a part of your summer project. Well, I would spend 2k for the "tent". Build frame around the "tent". Cover the solar panel on the top of frame.
