After you get the center cap off, on the backside you can push out the 3 clips that hold the Toyota emblem in. I used the butt end of a screwdriver to hammer them out. I’ve only seen the resin TRD decal in the red color. That’s a cool idea to try to get a blue color in that area though. I’m not sure if the Toyota emblem is easy to put back in once it’s been pushed out as I’ve never tried before.

I was curious and did a quick search and found the below link to the same type of resin center cap decal but looks like the TRD is white rather than red. So seems like there could be other colors available. The size you want is the 60mm one. Maybe search around and see if there’s a blue one out there. Once the Toyota emblem is removed these decals are super easy to place into the center cap and they look really good in my opinion.

I've found these ones also.. I was just curious. I wonder if some @rrentrop decals over the letters might work. (if they'll hold up from use on the wheels though) They *might* be the same size as one's he's already made. I guess I could always try grabbing some and testing, if/when I go this route. Maybe the one's he made for the sema center cap will fit over the red/white.. and thus, no issues? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Color-Matc...hash=item2a7a11952b:m:mmeg2RmqnbCJLQmfmSc55Dg

I am hesitant to wash the truck in fear that they will come off. Anyone have any issues while washing their wheels?

Are you worried the decals will come off? As long as they are on well with no edges lifting they should be fine. Many guys have washed their truck and haven’t said anything.

I just realized the moderator moved this thread and the OR thread to the market place, vs having it just under the 3rd generation forum. I haven’t seen as much traffic as previously. Will you guys help out in posting pictures and your experiences with the vinyl??? I’d appreciate it.

Because it is cut slightly larger, some edges don’t stick as well and there edges that are lifting. I have tried going back over them with a hairdryer to try and get them to stick. I will post some pics tomorrow.

Just washed the taco. Pressure washed it at one of those DIY washes. No issues with the vinyl. If you took your time putting it on, no issues.

Awesome. and I'm a little jealous of your tires. lol. Not too many tire shops near me carry the falken.. and a couple of them don't even have the wildpeak that do. I'd love to upgrade mine to the wildpeak for that slightly more aggressive look, but with only like 4500 miles on em.. I'm prob gonna be stuck with my stock toyo's for awhile. :(

eBay. That’s where I got mine. They had a deal a month ago. 4 tires came to me shipped for $456. From discounttiredorect

I'm also slightly unoptimistic about their longevity.. If anything the decals should be larger so that a bigger piece of vinyl could form the edge, and thus stick better. As it stands, there is only a tiny part that wraps around the edges. I applied with a hairdryer and while they initially stuck, they seem to be lifting in places. I'm unsure how I could have applied it better.

That is interesting. Where are they lifting at? The inside or the outside portion?

Here are the steps I used to apply the vinyl in case anyone is interested.
    1. Clean the wheels really well. Key is to get all grease and oil off them. I cleaned them during the detail and then gave them another rub down with isopropyl alcohol.
    2. Next, peel the back from the vinyl and line up the two inside top corners on the wheel. Lightly stick each of the corners.
    3. Allow the vinyl to lay itself onto the wheel. Then take the side of your finger and work it from top to bottom. If you get any bubbles, just pull it up and lay it down.
    4. Once it's bubble free, use your finger to stick it down but leave the edges where it overlaps the curves in the wheel.
    5. Now take a heat gun on low and apply heat across the vinyl. The vinyl will "shrink" over the edges. Now use a finger to stick it down, working from the inside out.
Just so you guys don’t have to search at the beginning of the thread.

The outside edge. Will try to post picture later. I did not have a heat gun to "shrink" it over the edges, as I did not realize this would be required. A bit disappointing.

It’s not required. A blow dryer would do fine on high heat. Please PM me the pictures.

Hey, JRH, sorry to reply to such an old post. Wondering if you could tell me where I can get some of those TRD center caps to go on my stock wheels? Also, where can I get the TRD bed side decal with the red in it? Thanks in advance!

Link for center cap decals is below. It ships from Thailand so it takes a month or longer to arrive. Install is easy. You just need to remove the center caps, push out the Toyota emblem from the back side, and then stick these on.

[IMG]$19 4 x TRD Red TOYOTA 60 mm. Resin Wheel Center Caps Logo Decal Emblem Stickerhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/4-x-TRD-Re...-Caps-Logo-Decal-Emblem-Sticker-/122132554479

For the bedside decal, you can PM @CBoy808 at the link below. He can make just about any style you want. I wanted mine to look like the TRD Sport decal that comes stock on the white and silver Sports since I thought it would look good on blue. I’ve been really happy with how it looks. CBoy808 does a great job. I got black and red combination in gloss (I found that matte black can disappear when you look at it from different angles on the blue background).

Also here’s a link to his main thread showing the work he can do:
