    I have it assembled, I'm just deciding how I want to deal with the weather stripping. I think I'm going to take it off and bore it the exact size of the risers. That way it looks super clean.

    A lot of people use a leather punch and it works well. There’s a metal wire running through the middle of it so drilling it out is messy.

    Prinsu rack has a dynamic load rating of several hundred pounds probably, so that spud gun should be able to have some horsepower behind it...hypothetically.

    I've seen a tacoma or two with an M240 mounted to a roof rack. If it can handle that, a spud gun should be good to go.

    You might also want day/night vision cameras with visible/infrared guidance lasers. Hypothetically, of course. And you'll need to do some hypothetical ranging to determine azimuth settings. You can significantly increase the strength of the sheet metal the rivnuts in placed in with backing washers. Do you plan any hypothetical rifling of the spud barrel?

    Still working on design but I am making progress. I scrap'd my bolt action design and started working out a revolver design using servos. This is going to be a marathon not a sprint though. With school and work I barely have time.

    I'm thinking the rear chamber is going to have a push/pull servo with an air line attached to a rod as well. When the cylinder servo rotates into place, the push/pull will push the the air line(on a rail) into the "round" then I'll actuate a release for the compressed air. Timing is going to be my greatest challenge, unless I seperate each function to different programming commands.

    Best spud gun design I ever used, had a beveled leading edge that cut the sides of the potato as it was pushed down the barrel. Not a fast reload, but ensured a good, tight fit. Potato velocity was further enhanced by cutting the end of the potato off prior to insertion at 90 degrees to barrel. Nice flat pushing surface.
