VW getting ready to jump into the mid size truck market

The vehicle would be 214.1 inches long, which is 1.8 inches longer than the Tacoma and 1.4 longer than the Colorado.

It has a 276-horsepower, 3.6-liter, 6-cylinder gas engine, in keeping with VW's decision to abandon diesel engines in the U.S. after the company's emissions scandal. It would have an 8-speed automatic transmission and go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.5 seconds.

One design feature that helps the Atlas Tanoak stand out is a rail mounted on the pickup bed instead of on the back of the cab, which can help carry large items such as ladders.

Man VW knows how to make an interior. That’s what I miss most from my GTI.

 

VW already has the Amarok in international markets.

 

The taillights and the odd bed line are pretty cool

 

Surprised to see it has 9.8" of ground clearance. I wonder if you need to do an exhaust reroute

Between this, fake engine noises and fake vents, I hate new cars.

 

They have been doing that for years

 

I like it. But, if actually introduced to the US market, I predict it will sell about 50% of Ridgeline volume, at best.

 

I would imagine that it would compete directly with the Ridgeline. Anyone that favors Honda reliability will get the Ridgeline while anyone just leasing it will probably get the VW.
