no its not a sign, that's just moisture in the engine cooling off in the cap

mine has done it since new in the cold months and goes away once it heats up enough

Yes, I know it could be short drives. I ran some errands before messing with it, so I don't think it's all that cold. I also noticed the left side of the engine seems greasy but it's not exactly clean to begin with. I also just had the oil changed last week.

I'm going to take it out for a long-ish drive tomorrow and see if it clears up. Just kinda pissed me off since I dropped my car off to have the transmission rebuilt today.

It comes down to condensation. Almost all extended fillers do this, especially if you drive short distant trips! No harm to the engine. Clean it every oil change if you wish.

I actually do know some of the signs for a head gasket. I was venting and seeing what response I might get here.

The oily marks around the coil plugs and side of the valve cover is a little disappointing to see. It's been a few months since I've played with my truck and I can't remember if those oily marks were there before.

Not a sign of a headgasket leak on its own. As mentioned, it is likely just condensation.

If youre worried, mark the coolant level when cold, and check it in the mornings before you go to work. Make sure to also inspect inside the radiator cap (when cold) to make sure it is still full and the overflow reservoir isn't blocked or something.

Also, milkshake coloured oil and misfire errors are other indicators.

    Good luck!
