I'm pretty sure no one's made a thread on this so I decided I would.

I was looking around on carid.com for headlights and I came across these mean looking ones. They're new from spyder and open to pre-order's but will be shipped out on 5/15/18. Am I the first to see these? What are your opinions?

I'm thinking I'm going to pre-order them in hopes that my 2012 will have been sold and an 05-11 has been purchased by then. If all goes planned I'll be sure to pos pics for you guys.

Still going to need to upgrade the projector to have better performance than your stock set has now. These will likely be less than stock in performance right out of the box.

Oh wow, I figured they'd be better quality. Are spyder's known for typically not performing as well as stock?

So you're looking at headlight upgrades for a truck you don't even own yet?

And yes Spyder headlights are known for crap quality.

    Another vote against spyder

They have been shit for years, they leak, the optics are subpar, and the inner clearcoat peels..... yeah, the inner clearcoat.

These will not be as bright as a true Retrofit. Now TRS sells kits to convert the Spyder headlights to a better projector, but after everything is said and done you will be adding $200+ to have better output and still not the best. you may just look at getting a set of good stock headlights (or some crap ones while you mod the ones you have that are on the truck so you can take your time) and do a true retrofit. just my 0.03
