Yea that's what I'm thinking too.

    But aluminum is corrosion resistant...

I've got my card out and ready to go and I'm like a mule between two bales of hay over here.

    First world problems...

Skids first. I would love to see that part of the country, never have been there.

    Either path has a downside.
Better question may be which downside you can live with.

Yep, aluminum wins. Light and corrosion resistant (I'm at the beach a lot) > cheap and repairable. I doubt I'm hard enough on my truck to destroy an aluminum skid anyway.

Had a pleasant surprise, Pelfreybilt gave me a promo code to use and with the aluminum skids it came out $11 cheaper than it would have with steel.

Looking forward to that big brown truck!

Edit: BTW thanks for the input, everyone. I was just going to say Fu*k it and order steel but in talking it out I realized aluminum will likely be better for my use.

I went with RCI. Been very happy with them. Aluminum to save weight and corrosion resistance. I especially liked their removable panel for oil changes without having to remove the entire front skid

I went with steel all around for repairs if needed down the road but my Pelfreybilt skid has an adequate sized hole for oil change

Had my PelfreybiLt rear bumper and Sliders shipped to a FedEx hub to save a bunch of money on shipping.

I just purchased the RCI transmission skid. Bottomed out on a crossmember last year at Jambo. Don't want to chance it this year.

Lucky for me my work address accepts freight deliveries! The airport is considered a hub if you know the right people, lots of cargo going in and out by truck. That’s probably the best part about always being there, I’m always there when it comes in.

I was hoping for the free shipping hookup I got with my bumpers. No luck this time.
