I bought one, installed it, went to fill up and the stupid kid stuck my gas cap on the door spring instead of using my shiny new Gasshole!:annoyed: Counties in Oregon with less than 40,000 residents can now pump their own gas! Time to move to eastern Oregon.

    MESO,
I have a 2nd Gen long bed. I would be happy to remove the gas door and send it to you if that would help???
I will double check to be sure it has "L" stamped on it but I don't know why it wouldn't.
I have the GASHOLE and some other mods of yours in a different truck and they are great!
Let me know if this helps.

I considered making the same offer until I realized the gas door is riveted on. I really didn't want to drill out the rivets and expose bare metal to the elements for any period of time, especially during winter. Mad props if you go through with it!

Well crap! I am out of town this week and didn't realize it was riveted on. I am in the same boat, I hate to drill them out and leave it all exposed. Sorry for the false hope LB people! I am sure someone local will come through soon.

Will the stan locking gas cap work with this?

Sorta kinda. Some Stant (not stan) caps (like mine) have threads that go almost all the way to the end. Those won't push in the unmodified Gasshole. You can either grind off some of the threads on the cap, ream out the Gasshole, or cut a notch like I did so the Stant will screw into the Gasshole. I've heard that some Stants have threads that don't go all the way to the end, like the OEM cap, so they will push into the Gasshole as intended. So if you are lucky and get one of those Stants, you won't have to do any modification to your Gasshole or locking cap. [And no, I don't have a picture of the notch I cut -- but I will tell you that the material is very tough, and it took quite a bit of work with a set of files to do it by hand.]

Sorry, no 4th grade humor, but I did manage to write "Gasshole" six times :D

You guys know you can hook the wire on the cap to the door easily, right?

I have to agree. stock cap hangs off the door tab via tether just fine.

I can only imagine the gasshole being useful if you broke the tether and don't
know how to, or bother to fix it, or install a tether for an aftermarket cap.

oh well.....this is not the first instance of [this sort of situation]

Apparently you can't imagine a locking gas cap that HAS NO TETHER. Or you can't be bothered to read back more than one or two pages in the thread to see why Meso has sold over 200 of these things. Oh well, this is not the first instance of this sort of situation.
