    You don't need a tank but it sure as hell is a great addition to an oba system. It's usually fairly inexpensive as well.

    I used an air mattress for a while and it sure is nice. Until it's cold and you're on a cheap non insulated air mattress freezing your ass off... Literally.

    My little Klymit insulated pad is just as comfy but much warmer.

    I had air mattresses that exactly fit my one and two person tents. Although the best use of my air mattress was hands down to inflate it and then just lie it on top of the Prinsu. No #eaf points, but damn was it a nice place to sleep. I might need to build a little platform to throw on the roof rack so I can mount my tent up there.
