Looking for a double din dvd/nav soo many options!

Ok, i think i've read every threat out there regarding double din navs. I am still lost and I am looking for some more opinions. First, let me mention what I am looking for:

Double din DVD/Nav for about 500-700 new or used.
Reliable- don't like freezing
Fairly easy override of brake for DVD
(would like volume knob but kinda optional)

Other than that i'm pretty flexible.
I have been eyeing the new JVC KW-NT3HDT (also the kw-7000) which by the stats seems perfect. But i don't know much about JVC's units or nav. (also pricy)

It seems the pioneer units are pretty hot as are the kenwoods (was thinking about a 7140 that was a refurb on crutchfield)
Then the eclipse which i know virtually nothing about

Help me out, what do ya'll use and like. Should i splurge on newer technology or is the older stuff just as good?

 

I have an alpine Iva-w505 with a nve-p1 for nav and I LOVE it! Deffinately one of the best ones I've seen and very user friendly interface

 

my buddy has a Kenwood excelon double din with nav (not sure exact model) in his altima and i fell in love with it. its what im saving up for now.

 

Yeah i played with a kenwood at the local best buy, and i was impressed. I just hear a lot of hype around pioneer. But again, i have no idea.

There isn't many places that stock double din units around me that i can play with.

I was reading about the eclipse 62D i think? It will plug right into the harness for the tacoma? This sounds pretty nice, anyone got input?

 

Kenwoods are good, use Garmin as there GPS system, Pioneer early models are hackable, www.avic411.com, so a Z1 can become a Z3 with just a hack, same with F-9 series can become X-9's, Eclipse is supposed to be getting out of the aftermarket sales soon, but yes plug and play for install. Search craigslist for models and then research them.
