What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I can't remember if it's 15 years from date of manufacture or when it was bought off the lot. It also needed to be treated with the undercoat. So there are 03 and 04 still eligible.

 

Interesting. I stand corrected...I was just going off what the directions on the box for my pads. That makes sense, how are you supposed to bed breaks in the snow...

 

It is the in-service date.

 

And it has to have been registered in certain "cold weather states" as recognized by Toyota...I forget which they are but they're mostly east coast states where road salt is a big issue in the winter. A rusty 04 in California (from being near the beach) would not qualify for a frame replacement if it had never been registered in one of those states.

Port Chicago highway by the naval base. Go past bates , wide open 2 lane for a mile or so. Late at night they race, so keep that in mind.

Just came out of Walmart and saw a guy looking at me truck. I thought he was going to break into it but he was curious if I wanted to sell it.

 

What you tell him?

 

I could of been a smart ass and say "is there a for sale sign? There's your answer" but I just kindly said no, I got to much invested in her.

 

It's really weird isn't it? I've had people stop and look at my cruiser in the driveway while I'm working in the garage and ask me if they can buy it. I'm always polite but it just seems so strange to do it at someone's home, always get offers at the Costco gas station too strangely. The taco draws eyes and questions but I don't think anyone wants it haha, my green Taco used to get offers occasionally when I went to cars and coffee meets though.

The correct answer is "everything's for sale for the right price." If someone offered me enough I would sell mine and build another/something else. Most people don't like the number I give them though haha

Nah, I paid 1,100,000 pennies for it. Plus the other 100,000 pennies or so I’ve put into it.

 

I have to much to do on my truck to sell it. I just ordered my LT coilovers next is the LT kit. New leaf springs and got the tundra axle fitted with the new diff and ARB locker. I am taking pictures just haven't posted them. I will though in a massive upload lol

 

I hope some of your pics are on dirt roads, and don't have any of those new parts installed.

 

I live on a dirt road and none of those parts are installed lmao.

 

Girlfriend is happy about her new kitchen surprise. She actually came into the garage which she never does a said all is forgiven. My reaction to seeing the door open and it's her walking in.
