Does the main house have internet? If so you can setup a wired connection in conduit between the two buildings. If you are line of sight between the buildings there are directional dishes that can push the network out to the coop.

She Called and was able to Cancel her contract because we are not gettin what they said we would get.
She is using her phone as a hot-spot and its working great. But her phone will slow down once she reaches a set data limit (even though its unlimited).

I was this of getting a mobile hot spot and have her use that untill it slows down, then use her phone and that might work for month to month. I guess I'll find out

I'm the pic you can see the main house. My aunt lives there. She can get internet I think.BUT It would be a major pain in the ass. She's on a fixed income and not all there. It's more trouble then it's worth. To add internet there and run it up to my place

Can you please help me understand why the 18 Mbps won't work? I am truly curious as I am kinda in a similar situation.

I dont really know Im at work and she is at home.
Her work ran some kind of test and told her that would not be good enough to use. I dont know the details till i get home.
Hugsnet says speeds (up to 25mbps) we got 18 on avg
I'll know more tonight and let you know.

IT did work to get onto the internet and go to websites, slow but it worked for that its better then nothing at all. but our location it didnt work for her work from home stuff, her phone is working better.

Do you have any proof that you live at the address(like a bill or car registration) and is the address the same as the main house? If so then you can get service in your name to the main house, and you are just a little work and $ from getting it to your house.

Cat 5 cable can be ran about 300ft, but there are plenty of other options if you are further than that or too much external noise/interference.

My address is the house down the driveway behind my dog. My place is not a house on paper. I have to use my parents address 7 miles away for my mail.
I'm only paying 1000$ a month for a 3 bedroom place with plenty of land for my dog.

I'll try to catch my aunt on a (good day) and see if I can put it at her house,

    I spy a subie :)
Hopefully you get all your internet worked out. As mentioned before, hook up at main building and run a length of cat6. If more than a few hundred feet you may need a repeater.

Easy solution: Pay the internet for your aunt and run a cable to your place.

Use CAT6 cable and you can go 100 meters (328 ft) without a repeater.

That house looks to be under 300 feet away.

Don't cheap out on the cable.

The 100 meter distance is not going to happen with cheapo cable and switches.

Look in to wilson electronics. Its a little spendy up front but well worth it. Cellphone booster. Even on my old flip phone I can text now, when I used to be I couldnt without. We got the outside antenna...it has an app or something where you can detect the best signal and you point the booster towards the nearest tower and you have a good signal.

Best to buy a roll of 500' armored OSP (Outside Plant) CAT5e and lightly bury it so critters don't chew on it. Throw a line extender on it. Personal experience has told me either CAT5e, or CAT6 beyond 200' in an outdoor environment at higher speeds can cause packet collisions/losses. Can plug it directly into the modem provided by the ISP at the Aunts house, then throw it on a wireless access point at the "chicken coup." No switches necessary, however a direct hardwire connection will provide the best results.

Sub in KY. I pay 80/mo for 3mbps download on an outdated "High speed DSL" because that's the only service available other than dish. Lucky to see 1.5-2 mbps. No cell service here (Verizon or other), even have a VZW network extender sucking up my precious bandwidth.

I live in the boonies too, Too many trees for satellite, too many hills for cell repeater/amps. I consider myself lucky to be the last house on the line able to get dsl. Had to rewire with cat6 to get a measly 1.5mbs. Could be worse... I had dial-up years ago.
