I did this for every gutter around my house and tied them all into a 8 inch main line. I would think that you would be fine using the PVC pipe under a side walk. As far as compacting the soil around the pipe that would depend on the soil in your area.

It depends how deep you go with your pipe. The concrete guy will probably put down 6" of stone and he should compact that. Your pipe should probably be deeper than that. Pipe depth, backfill, compaction, etc. will depend on what you want to go over it (person, lawn mower, pickup, delivery truck) and how much you want to spend. This is the standard for burying plastic pipes: http://www.kajborjatlas.ir/images/PDF/ASTM-D2321.pdf. Many pipe manufacturer's have guidelines that are easier to follow.

That doc will be helpful. Thank you. Looks like I just need to have a roughly 12"x12" trench under his gravel base. My zero turn should be the heaviest thing that goes on the sidewalk. I just dont want the trench to settle and crack down the middle of the sidewalk - I guess the compacting and rebar should keep that from happening.

@TomTwo do you have any issue with cleaning yours out? I would imagine just sticking a garden hose down them would work as well as anything.

I have leaf guards on my gutters and I also have two drains in the yard (a 16 inch and a 12 inch) that have leaf guards on them I have been here 16 years and have never had a problem with them getting clogged.

Anyone have any tips for removing tile from a countertop? When they did mine it was a sheet of plywood screwed to the cabinets, then a backboard nailed to the plywood, then the tiles over that. So it wont just come up.

Got this piece off and it wasn't to bad by just using a prybar and removing the material to expose the screws. Just feel like there must be an easier way. Thought of bringing the air hammer with chipping tip on it

    Don't really drink anymore.

BFH has been considered...but don't want to risk damaging the cabinets either.
