Wind Noise

Has anybody had any issues with wind noise in their Tacomas? Mine seems to be fine except for when I am driving at highway speeds on a windy day. Occasionally when the wind gusts I get a howling sound and I can't tell where it's coming from. Any suggestions?

 

Passengers side door seal. Cut a slit in it and put some plastic tubing in it (about 16" long)

Never made a peep after that.

There is a TSB for it, but ain't nobody got time for that.

 

I shoved a rolled up Walmart bag between the rubber and my door and it hasn't made a sound in a year.

 

I'll MAKE time for that! I hate that kazoo noise!

 

Lol! If you're around Sunday I can do it for you in about 30 seconds.

Got a link to the tubing your using? I think I saw the thread on this before, was it Ramon's?

 

I don't. Just some generic black plastic stuff from HD. I'll look tonight and see if it's still got the tag on it.

Yea, I could never do that. Even with my 10ply Cooper's eating my MPGs up on the highway.

 

Just took mine into dealer yesterday for this along with cell recording, TSB 1070-16 replaces both front door weatherstrips. Dealer agreed to replace (after Toyota regional approved). I am one week out of 36 month warranty..

 

I cant hear wind noise over my girlfriend, even with the windows down

 

There's a TSB for that too. TSB 1086-ESC. This adds the "Ejecto Seato Cuz" option to the passenger seat.

Chad, where did you cut the door seal to install the tubing, and what size tubing did you use?

 

Just some black .25" tubing
