I ordered sliders for my access cab on 02/03/18. Their website says two weeks lead time for bare metal, + two to three weeks for powder coating. I gave them till March 2 before I called for an update on my order. I was told hardware was backordered...ok no probs. Called again on March 22nd and was told they were ready, just waiting to be packaged and shipped. Now on March 30th... still no sliders or contact from BudBuilt so I called and was told the sliders they shipped last week aren't fitting right. So now I'm looking at another three weeks...that means a two week lead is actually a 2 1/2 month + lead.. what a waste of time...if you order BudBuilt...be prepared for a LONG wait..it was just one excuse after another. I guess I'll be ordering mobtown sliders.

Sorry to hear about that. I dealt with them and had no issues at all and mine fit perfectly.

Yeah.. it was just one excuse after another. I understand things happen, but a two week lead turns into two plus months, the least they could do is email or something. Never even tried to contact me. Not a good way to run a business

I dont know anything about budbuilt but from what ive read about them they seem to be pretty good. I understand it sucks to wait for things you've ordered. I also understand my own personal experience when I order something I want it yesterday and when complications happen its very very frustrating. The other thing I know most of the manufactures of Slider, Bumpers, Skids, Ect are very small operations. Its a hard way to make money in most cases if your trying to keep your prices reasonable. A few of the shops I know are doing it solo or there are only 2 or 3 of them. In most cases lead times are so long its just an estimate. Life happens in most cases.

Take it for what its worth. I understand that you payed hard earned money and expect things to work like clock work and I agree it should but sometimes things just happen. Doesn't mean they dont make a quality product and I'm sure they will stand by it and take care of you and get you what you want.

So have you talked about some sort of compensation / refund with them directly for the delay or did you just decide to say screw it, I'm just going to trash the vendor on TW?

Don't ever waste your time giving second chances to people that don't give a damn about you. This is a business contract, and they have failed miserably in keeping up their end of the deal. You should have (long ago) asked for your money back, and failing to immediately receive a full refund, called your credit card company and filed a dispute (which would be sorted out in your favour within weeks, if not days). If this is how little they give a damn about you during the initial sale, imagine the customer support you'll get should something go wrong down the line. So long as people accept getting shafted by such companies, this crap will continue. Force companies to live up to their promises and vote with your wallet - the only vote that counts.

If you promised to pay in two weeks, but two months later they didn't see a penny from you, do you really think they'd keep giving you second chances?

Was OP charged for the order and not offered compensation or a refund for the delay? Did he even ask?

I trashed them because delay after delay... excuse after excuse. Never once did they try to communicate the situation. A two week lead is now a eight weeks later and now they say another three weeks? Where does it stop? So am I supposed to keep waiting and listening to more excuses till July? "Oh. We ran out of packing tape, it'll be another three weeks". Again. They didn't even try to communicate with me about any delay or problem. 59 days was plenty of time for them to email...at least once.

Have they processed your refund yet? Has there been any pushback on that?

    I've never heard of them.

Why did you go with them over one of the many who get recommended on this site?

    Hey guys,
Sorry for the issues, we are actively working through them.

Bud has recently been very sick, and not a simple cold kinda sick if you know what I mean.

Many are right, we are a business, and should treat customers with the respect they deserve. Others are working to pickup a lot of tasks that Bud normally covers. It’s going to be hard, and we don’t really know our long term future right now. What we do know is we absolutely hate bad customer service just as much as you guys, and it kills us to know we dropped the ball. We will get better.

We are refining our process and updating the website, and customers accordingly to reflect the companies changes to timeline and communications.

    Best of luck.

Probably something that should have been communicated directly between the customer and vendor from the onset.

Maybe it even was, who knows.

I have dealt with budbuilt on two vehicles I had a 4runner and I wanted their beefy bump out sliders. The quality was excellent they fit perfect but the wait was pretty long maybe three months. I tried to order them for my 17 Tacoma when it just came out and they strung me along for four months and never built them I spoke to Bud directly several times and he kept giving the runaround. He’s a super nice guy the qualities great it’s hard to be mad at him but ended up giving me a refund because I was not willing to wait any longer. You have to decide if your willing to wait going in.

Yes, please email budbuiltinfo@gmail.com and I will send them to you. The file is quite large, even after compressing. I include a lot of pictures.

Mine didn't come with them either. I called and the woman I spoke with emailed them right over to me. After reading them I felt kinda stupid to how easy they were to install. I will test mine out in Uhwarrie this weekend.

i have a Budbuilt traction bar on my 3g.

when i looked at vendors for these, i saw that Budbuilt looked like a very small outfit, the kind of shop who makes parts to order because they are too small to make and stock parts they may sell this week, next year, or never. small shops are challenged with capital to make stock. it took a while... they had to order the metal, cut & weld, send off to powder, etc. i knew it would take weeks and it did.

getting updates from them was a small pita... i had to call them until i got the info. usually had to try until they picked up the phone. but it didn't matter since I already planned to wait weeks.

i got the stuff and i got some support from them during install. they and Bud were helpful. i appreciate that.

there were fitment issues, and that is a different issue from what's being discussed here. you can find a mention of that somewhere around here but it's not a big deal.

bottom line is i prefer to support this community when i can. sometimes the costs involved are not monetary but just dealing with small community folk. if you were one of my clients for my biz you'd find yourself with personal attention and high quality listening, but no staff answering the phone and no support agents doing the billing and scheduling for you. that's part of the cost of dealing with me. the benefit is [i believe] you won't get better quality service anywhere ever. but i can't speak for Bud, personally.

just my opinion but i think bringing issues up is good but stringing up a vendor first without a private discussion beforehand isn't right for the community.
