    IMG_0589.jpg Greetings all!

I have been using Tacomaworld as a resource for a couple of years but this is my first posting. Thank you to all who so generously supply their expertise so that the rest of us may benefit, I'm here to do my (small) part :). We bought this Taco brand new in 2011, it was my wife's daily driver until I bought her another new one last November. It's been a great truck, at 91,000 absolutely trouble free miles I decided that it deserved some serious love. I am an aircraft mechanic and inspector, some of what I have done probably seems like overkill but I have witnessed many times the importance of preemptive maintenance. Reliability is paramount to me. So here goes...

    1. Toytec Ultimate lift kit with SPC upper control arms.

    2. 17" wheels with 275/70R17 tires (fit perfectly).

    3. Factory bed light system.

    4. Alpine ILX-207 stereo.

    5. Factory roof rack.

    6. New factory fuel pump

    7. New factory starter.

    8. Replaced ALL fluids and greased all zerks. I flushed the transmission using a variation of a technique I found here on Tacomaworld, I disconnected the cooler return line (the top one) at the transmission and had my wife start and shut off the motor to allow the transmission pump to do the work. I intentionally kept the transmission overfilled while I was doing this then set the level correctly at the end.

    9. New factory serpentine belt and fan (the desert heat is really hard on plastic).

    10. New spark plugs.

    11. New factory overhead outside air temp / compass. I actually bought a used one from an earlier year then swapped out the electronics with factory new. I sold the old module on eBay.

    12. New HPC silicone radiator hoses.

    13. Replaced the front and rear turn signal / DRL bulbs with Sylvania Zevo LED units, I need to modify the flasher yet though.

    14. New factory headlight assemblies.

    15. New A/C blend door actuator (mine was thumping). Not too difficult a job, I used the GM part.

    16. All new filters everywhere.

    17. New factory floor mats.

Bunch of other little things, I replaced every plastic fastener that I removed with a new one. The rack was custom built by a guy in Las Vegas where I work. It sits on the bed rails and clamps using the existing cargo rails so no modifications to the truck at all. I need to have it powder coated but for $250 its a bargain. I've been running it for a while on Chevron gas, Techron is pretty good for cleaning fuel systems.

So now we are good for a while!
