I've never measured it. I would think as long as the base bolts up the same, it would work fine.

 

Considering URD developed a separate kit for the 3rd gen, my guess is that there are dimensional differences between the two that would not allow the TRD shifter to fit.

 

Doing the rear diff fluid today.
Thinking of picking up some of dis.




Read on here awhile ago some aftermarket fluid will help with the howl. Bonus.

Any other reccomendations for aftermarket non OEM stuff guys?

 

75w-85 is the correct Rear Diff Spec if I am not mistaken, and the fluid will not cure the Howl, that is a Harmonic Vibration.

 

I have MT-90 in my tranny. No complaints.

 

That’s MT-90 GL4 don’t put in your diff it’s manual trans fluid. Use 75W90 or the spec 75W85 GL5

Oops. Thanks for that. I thought like automatic fluid it can be used elsewhere.

Im gonna go take a look at the shops in town see what they got. Also doing the ECGS bushing today.

Redline, Amsoil and Mobil 1 are all top shelf and the only gear fluids I would use.

Ask the members in here and do the fluid changes yourself, it’s easy and cheap even with synthetics.

Also, if you’re doing the front diff bushing and draining just get some Mobil 1 75W90 gear and refil the front diff, you can get it anywhere.

 

Thanks for help. Im doing the front anyways so the rear is coming out too. Same weight oil for front and rear diffs according to what I find on here correct?

 

Same weight 75W90 GL5 front and rear. If you need a synthetic in a hurry just buy Mobil 1 which you can buy anywhere.

Don’t worry about the spec 75W85 weight unless you’re driving highway all the time.

 

This is what I used for my truck:

Front Diff: 1.6 qt - Redline 75w90
Rear Diff: 2.5 qt - Redline 75w90
Transfer Case: 1.1 qt - Redline MT90
Transmission: 2.0 qt - Redline MT90

 

Well Im going with some "liquid engineering" gold.

Was Castrol or Royal Purple as choices around here.

 

I use Royal Purple engine oil. Many people don't seem to be a fan of their gear oil though.

I don't have a I4 but he is using my truck as a tester for the V6 2016+. There is a thread in the 2nd gen section with a bunch of people using them.

 

I just put that in the transmission yesterday and M1 gear lube in the diffs.

Initial feeling is that it is about the same as the OE fluid, but I only took it for a short drive.

Me too! I sent him the stock 16+ V6 Shifter and base for measurements last month. I got it back before Easter (quick turnaround) and Chris told me that he should have something in a few months.

 

I'm hoping the same. He has to get a base mocked up in the next few weeks.

 

How long are clutches lasting ?
