I paid $200 for mine with the XM module in it. I think they go for 150-200 but don’t always include the module.

Depo is regarded as one of the best compared to OEM. Tyc usually fade after a few years and just need to be buffed out. Insurance writes for depo lights on most newer vehicles when they're not going OEM or used OEM

I'll be installing mine soon as well. Happy to make a day of it, but I'm way up in the frigid north. ;)

Also, I make zero claim that I know what I'm doing. Just gonna wing it and hope for the best.

It’s a pretty easy install for the most part.

That greatly depends on how/where it's mounted. But yeah, it shouldn't be too bad, once I figure out how I want to mount the damned thing.

I'm not liking this one. I was far away and the window pane was in the way. And I'm standing by that.

I have those same hood pins that’s been sitting around since last month and need to install soon, before my hood completely flies off at speed.

Any words of wisdom for install?

20180325_185258.jpg First off, mount the pin closer to the radiator than I did. The core support flexs too much near the fender. I have already braced it once. That crack shows I need to do it again.
    20180320_210911.jpg
Mount the pin to the core support first. Mark the underside of the hood first. Drill at the mark with a hole saw(the larger of the two hole saws to make the holes in the top of the hood). Close the hood on the pin to mark location and drill thru the top of the hood with a Unibit to about 3/4" hole. Close hood. Invert lower bracket of latch(for marking) place main part of latch on it and pin to ensure proper alignment. Mark outside of lower bracket in four spots. Remove main part of latch from pin. Realign bracket with previous marks and draw inside outline of bracket on hood. Use a small hole saw (3/4" iirc) to drill small radius and 1-1/4 holesaw (iirc) to drill large radius. Use a dremel to cut the lines between the holes. Check the fit of the latch and file for a good fit if necessary. Deburr and paint all edges. Install the nylock nuts into bracket and slide into hole in hood. I used an Allen wrench to hold the bracket from below thru the hole for the pin so I could start the Allen screws for the latch. It was a fun task.
Tighten all the screws gradually and evenly.
Pay attention to the curvature of the hood where you will mount the latch. Mine do not quite fit flush but I had no choice but to use the spot where my old latches were.

Mine was bouncing around a lot from my bug deflector so I decided to use them. Tim has issues with his hood fluttering too.

My core support is cracked in at least four spots. I ended up reinforcing them all . And my factory latch point in the hood has been cracked for some time. When I mounted these new latches, I found this. 20180320_210324.jpg

Eh. Upside is that I can now pop my hood without going inside the truck. Before I had to release the hood pins then go inside to pull the release latch.

    This ^^^

My core support is smushed and fractured on the DS.

    Gotta do this mod soon.

Funny this came up. I was having issues myself.. I would get hood flutter at highway speeds and the hood line sits higher than fender line. What ended up happening was for a while now I had a vibration squeak/chirp all the time. When I removed my old skid and found a broken mounting bolt and metal rub I thought I sourced it. Skid removed noise still there. Thinking it was uni-balls (which are newish replaced) I kept tight on maintenance and lube to see if I can get it to go away. Whole lotta nope. Turns out while doing other maintenance, getting off the ground at the front tire I pulled myself up from the headlight hoop, heard a good chirp.. Started shaking the front end and there it was, the squeak/chirp was the hood latch moving in the catch! The catch shows a lot of wear groved out probably from trail vibes. Off the top of my head I just wrapped the catch in black tape to fatten it and slammed the hood. Now everything’s quiet again. Slight pita to open but I can still go in and out under the hood. These pop pins are interesting. If I went this route I gotta be careful cuz I already have cracking on the rad support..
