Anything specific? Here's a few from when I first installed everything

Since I will be relocating the perches, I'm looking for how the shock mounts are welded on or near the perches. Also, If you have measurements on how far the perches are located from the hubs that'd be great.
I undersand not all measurements will be the same, I just need an idea.

So far what I'm thinking is just letting the spring hang freely/straight and go from there.

 

Yeah let them hang straight and then center the axle on them as best as it can. Give me 20min or so and I'll try to grab a few pics

 

So i have a new question for the folks of TW. Can ICON even produce shocks/bypasses up to the craziness of fox/king/ads? Or should i start thinking about going through one of those companys for bypasses?

 

Yeah, but most guys run fox or king - then some sway away. Why a preference for icon - already have some of their shocks? Chances are you'll be replacing everything anyway.

 

Dirty dirty, but hope this helps. Ignore my nasty looking bump strike pads. They work for now and I'm too lazy to redo them until I am under the truck again to build a truss for the axle

 

Well I have icon stage 5 right now but I also have fronts under my bed right now waiting for the LT and I prettied them up. Plus I really like the guys at icon. Not so corporate like fox and aren’t cocky dicks like king. (Coming from working with each company)

Just trying to get all the info I can! I definitely want best performance for the price haha. Is it even worth going up to 3.0 or 3.5s with what I’m looking at?

 

Not really. Kings usually go for the best prices around my neck of the woods since so many pop up used.

 

Fox/King = Progressive valving

Icon = Digressive Valving

ADS = Progressive compression, Digressive Rebound

Other differences too. But they will handle different. still all perform well with good tuning.

 

That makes sense. I can get all three brands wholesale so I’d probably just buy new anyway haha. Who knows where this’ll go!

 

Yeah, looks like mine are mounted in about the same spot as @Hawk373 posted earlier, but like I mentioned, my perches are probably mounted backwards. Didn't realize the cutaway on one end of them would be to slip the shock mounts through, but wouldn't have been able to weld it all the way down anyways. So I cut that mount at an angle to match the perch and called it good lol

Unless your racing, 2.5” shocks will be fine. 3.0” shocks are the biggest you would ever need on your truck if you were racing. You would have a hard time even tuning 3.5” shocks since they wouldn’t get worked appropriately with your trucks relatively light weight.

 

Which is what I was thinking as well. Seemed like it was way too overkill for my application haha. Just needed others to confirm so thanks!

 

Just add about 2k lbs to the truck and throw on some 3.5's. Bitches love bigger shocks.
