I just ordered Fox 2.5 with resis and 2.0 rear with resis from Headstrong and have a few questions before I do my install.

Headstrong reccomends that Fox 2.5’s be adjusted OFF the vehicle, however I’ve searched the forums and found that people have adjusted the coilovers while installed with the suspension at full droop. Is there any risk of damage with the punch method? Should I have a shop adjust them before install for a better peace of mind?

What is everyone experiencing as far as settling? How long do they take to settle and much lift should I expect to lose after the initial settle? I do have SOS Concepts sliders on order which will add some weight to the truck, I’d like to install them before my lift to get a better baseline to measure off of.

Adjusting them on the truck is easy. Just be smart about it. Don't loosen the Allen screw too much so the ring doesn't jump threads. Other than that it's a no brainer. You can adjust both sides in 10 minutes. I use the Harbor freight punch and it works great. Let it settle for a couple days and set your height before you get your alignment and it will be perfect. You don't have to get an alignment after any adjustment but be aware that adjustments do effect the alignment even if it's just a little bit.

Wouldn’t alignment play a factor in ride height as well?

Yes I suppose it could, but my point is that changing the ride height with coiliver will change alignment. I think small changes are fine but if you make large adjustments then you may want to consider getting a new alignment.

X2 for the harbor freight punch. Soak the threads above and below the collar before turning, don't loosen the screw too much, and make sure during install to leave the screw on the collar facing out so you can access it on the truck. You'll want to go max exposed threads of 1.925" according to fox. That's about 2" lift for third gens. You probably want to do the needle bearing replacement with ECGS bushing while you have everything apart.

Forgot to mention that I bought the extended travel coilovers with LR UCA and progressive AAL for the rear. Should the thread count be about the same for 2” lift?

Yes. No difference in physical dimensions between the extended and regular. The extended just allow more down travel based on interior construction.

Got it, I appreciate the help!

Im going back and forth between leaving them at factory height or cranking them up. I currently have 265/70/17 and don’t want them to look too tiny.

The UCA bolt is a pain in the fuckin ass bro. Be prepared to either cut the bolt off and have replacement bolts, or bend some sheet metal. I didn't know the bolt was such an issue until I had my front end apart on a Sunday. Bent a lot of sheet metal, and even drilled a hole in the tire well to get the bolt out.

I think it would look good with the front leveled with the rear.
I’m likely going with the bending sheet metal route. It doesn’t feel right to cut off a bolt and install a new one backwards. How tough was it to bend the sheet metal?

Drivers side wasn't mich bending. Passenger side I bent a lot. Couldn't get it all pulled out of the way and ended up using a bore too on a drill to get a troublesome spot.

I'm just gonna get some black spray paint to cover those spots I scraped all the paint off.

Also, I ended up installing the passenger bolt in backwards because it was such a pain in the ass trying to get it back in the right way. Probably throw some loctite on it soon to make sure it's good.

x2 on the passenger side being a PITA. I use large channel locks to bend the sheet metal on both side, and still had to install the passenger side bolt backwards. Red loctite for sure.
