Well, that's really unfortunate then. Maybe more of the story will happen.

I think the failure was at the u-bolts. Under torqued or low quality.

With the leaves still on there, I can't think of anything else other than that I've also run into bad heat treat on other stuff in the past.

My U bolts were loose by about three whole turns after about 500mi from the factory. I could hear them in the cab.

I think he installed a flip kit and changed out the rear suspension in his past posts.

Ummmm yeah, absolutely no way a broken shock caused all that. The more likely scenario is, dude doesn't tighten u-bolts, axle comes loose, then breaks shocks as it is ejecting itself from under the vehicle.. Anyone that thinks a broken shock would cause this, clearing needs to go back to school.

I don't think the instagram account that was posted above is the owner/driver of the wrecked truck. Just a witness. Seems like they both drive 3rd gens though.

Just saw the video.. Wow, what a bunch of idiots. Could have easily been prevented but nobody bothered to tell the guy winching to stop. Just sat back and watched it happen while recording it on their phone. Dude needs some new friends that care more about getting him off the trail safely than filming the incident for their IG

edit. aaaand confirmed. Definitely NOT caused by a broken shock. Of course, didn't take rocket science to figure that one out. Sorry @tacotroy17

Sadly, all too common. At least no one's life was in danger.

That's a good price compared to buying parts separately:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FSZ9YY4
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P2S0TKQ

The tube that I bought was $6.99 at Lowes.

He was advised according to the witness and ignored good advice apparently. Had a plan and was sticking to it. This was from the witness comments on the ig account of the witness. Go look in the WTF thread.

Yeah, just read through the comments. Sounded like the guy was a real ass. Nonetheless, someone should have stepped in and shut the fuckery down before this happened. But as they say, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
