Rear End Feels Weird

I don't blame this on the truck one bit.... this was user error all the way.

 

Was it caused by the brakes being locked tight? Hell, even the fronts were sliding...

 

? Serious here. If the cable was tied off on one axle end, then I’m guessing the extra leverage may have done it...I guess- just wondering if anyone knows if it was tied off to the axle or frame.

Im not going question his character but having the truck for sale for about 2 months and then this happening makes almost lean towards him trying to total truck on insurances dime. I would never wheel a newer vehicle im actively trying to sell.

 

I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. This is obliviously not the way to get out of the situation. I can't believe they just kept pulling the axle underneath the truck.

I wonder if the u-bolt torque was not checked and they came loose then broke. I have heard over the years that you are not supposed to reuse u-bolts.

I just wish he had limped it out with the front wheels dragging it's ass!

 

shouldn't re use many bolts. A lot of them are engineered to stretch once torqed to spec. Its a once and done deal. Any attempt to re torque to required spec would either stretch the bolt further severely weakening or not clamp tight enough down.

 

Ridgeline guys might jump in on this one!
