Everything should be shipped out now - had a little mix up with the courier and the e-postage system. Please give the USPS tracking a day or two to update when it reaches the distribution hub. Everyone should be receiving it by early next week. Thanks for a great group buy everyone!

So, has anyone installed in a 2nd Gen (I have a 2011)? Which set-up did you use? Thanks.

Got a good sound to them, I may toss em on the Taco after all since I have to tear it apart soon haha. Should fit nicely behind my winch

So I got setup 1 and installed it on my Third Gen. It's not in the lower valence (I didn't have a centered bolt down there and if it was off-center I'd be OCD about it), but it's about where the factory third gen horn is. Here is a writeup on how I did it in case any other 3rd genners want to try these out. I'm an idiot, and these worked for me, so they are certified idiot-proof.

    1) Take off your grill. Pop the hood, there's two of those dumb things you have to pop the top of up with a pocket knife and pull out, and two screws. Remove those, grab the top of the grille surround, and give the whole thing a firm tug outward.

    2) Remove the factory horns. There is a plug that is plugged into both horns, pinch the tab on the side and pull them out downward. You'll need these for later. The horns are held in place by a 12mm bolt. No nut, it's in a threaded hole.

    IMG_20180409_164142.jpg

    3) Now we're gonna mount the bracket assembly from setup 1. Toyota has conveniently hidden a little threaded hole for us dead center in the radiator/hood support, behind a cap, which you can pop off with a knife and take the existing bolt out of. It's a 10mm, iirc. There's a little donut thing around it that will come out when you take the bolt most of the way out, you don't need that, take it out too.

    IMG_20180409_165602.jpg

    4) Mount up the bracket assembly to that hole. I got 3 washers, a spacer, and a bolt in my pack. I'm not sure if I was supposed to get a nut or not, but fortunately this hole is threaded so I didn't need it. From the front, I went like this: Bolt head -> washer -> horn bracket -> spacer -> washer -> threaded hole. That's probably not the right place to put the washers, so if you know better please do better. Tighten that whole thing up, level off your horns, and it should look something like this:

    IMG_20180409_170211.jpg

    5) Now onto the wiring. There are 3 terminators in the wiring harness. Two rings for + and -, obviously the red one goes to positive on your battery, and the black one goes to wherever you ground your stuff. If you've not messed with this stuff there's a convenient bolt into the side of the engine bay next to the battery that I like to use. That leaves the last one, which is purple. Remember earlier when I said we'll use the factory horn cables later? This is later. That cable needs to go to your horn trigger, and I had no idea where that was so I made the logical conclusion that one of the connectors from the factory harness had to include/be the horn trigger. Through the very scientific process of 'guessing', I stuck it in the one that had 2 wires coming out of the back, and it works. You'll want to wrap this one in heat shrink or electrical tape because it likes to fall out and has no protection from the elements. I covered up the other end of the stock harness with tape too just because it seemed like the reasonable thing to do. Below are some photos, as well as a handy place I found to put the loom through. Once you get all this squared up, and zip tie all your cables somewhere so it looks like you know what you're doing, put your grill back on and become the public nuisance you were born to be!

Wow! This is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for posting a detailed write-up for 3rd Gens - I made Setup 1 to mount to 1st Gens but I didn't realize the 3rd gens have so much space behind the grille. Hope you like them!

Did the bolt I provide have the same pitch and thread as the hole you mentioned? It's an M6. @Jibbs

Just hope it helps someone out. There's a ton of space behind the grille. Im kind of fine with mounting it higher cause I'll be putting a winch and bumper on soon anyway, dunno what room will look like down there

Interesting. That means Toyota hasn't changed that size center radiator support bolt since 1995.
