    Hey All,

Have had my truck now for about a year and currently have 7k miles. Since i don't see myself hitting the 10k anytime soon, is it best to go get the oil change now? Then at 2 year, 3 year, etc..? I have another car that i use for commuting, so the Tacoma sits for a while from time to time.

    Appreciate the help.

Mine was under 10 K at one year and the dealer changed the oil.

Yes, go by time instead of mileage in your situation.

If I'm not mistake its time or mileage what ever is first. Just do the math and get the most bang for your buck.

I had mine changed at one year and less than 5000 miles. I plan on a second oil change in June at two years and less than 8000 miles.

For grins send a lab sample off.

You'll learn what would be right for your engine.

My guess is they'll tell you you can go longer.

There is no calendar magic here. It's all in how the vehicle is used.

1 year or 10k miles, whichever comes first. I only had about 5k when I hit 1 year. I'm at 1.5k and I just hit 8k now in my 2017. I like to change mine a little early anyway because I occasionally take it through some dusty trails.

Is there such a thing as changing your oil TOO OFTEN?

except for the expense, there is no harm in changing more often.
