I'd also be in for one. I wish I saw this sooner and got on board. The annex is awesome!

Well. There is room but not enough room for the walls. I kept the walls zipped up then layed them out and rolled/folded them up.

    8B0EED96-5A3F-4136-BA87-8813C0160A27.jpg

The awning bag is long enough to handle the “height of the walls” but all bundled like I had them the bundle was too thick.

The poles all go into a supplied bag and the stakes (Beefy as hell)(honestly was expecting cheap thin crap) and strings All tuck inside the “top” and then all of it gets strapped inside the cover. They originally didn’t have the poles inside he straps so it just flopped inside the main cover which was terrible.
    D01CC921-7464-481B-B976-66346F88E565.jpg
I do with there was a 3rd strap inside it.

Even rolling tighter (I was by myself) I don’t think it would be able to get right enough.

    0E00D852-1E79-4BA1-B015-E02405CCA28D.jpg

I think you could possibly get a few of them in but not all 6 wall pieces. Each “wall” is separate. Zippers and nice little clips on the verticals and Velcro on the bottom. So I ended up putting it into the bag it came with. I used 4 straps to wrap it tighter and in the front there is only maybe 2” of slack. The middle is actually pretty snug because the triangular sections All Fold into this area do not much extra. And the rear has the brackets which keep it out more.

    DFD39E98-1D08-49BE-AC57-31B29AC4FCF8.jpg

They had originally folded them individually each wall then into the bag. I just did them all together. Their methods is definitely easier and smarter. If it’s raining I’ve got the lay it all out before deploying. The original way you could only undo one wall at a time.

I originally mounted my awning with the bracket down, but ended up flipping it to the top to get some more height for the walls, but still didn’t get high enough to be able to stake them down. I have similar issues with my RTT annex if I park slightly off camber. I started to just park on a log to raise it slightly. I mean my 80 isn’t exactly short... so my gripe is again the walls are too long. Or I just need to make a movable bracket to raise it when deployed.

    0AC666A0-345C-46EF-80E4-79DA07B4F66F.jpg
I did have to tighten up the main pivot some(one of the main nuts wasn’t even into the nylon part yet) and this drastically helped with some of the flimsyness. But don’t do it too tight. There is some play that is wanted to allow things to rise and fall without stressing anything.

Over all I’m really impressed. I set it up (awning) in about 40 minutes by myself. A tip is to tie the next poles together to keep them up and use a riser pole to hold them up. Or get a second person like it Recommended. The structure gets built then you pull the cover out over it all. I started from the side of the truck then pulled my way around to the back. It’s very snug.

Note if you have a swingout on the truck. It may interfere with the walls. To open it I had to unzip the wall. Also note that Because the back wall is so close to the truck (even tried sliding the awning back about a foot) I wasn’t able to put the final wall up.
    A5BB6DC8-3DF7-41D5-9EF1-EF710656DDF1.jpg

That being said on a trailer or truck without a swing out it would work great!
I’ve got a few friends I know want in on the next Group Buy!!!

All in All I’m very pleased and my issues would have happened with any “big name” awning. I can say the construction seems pretty well made.

Well, mine came in today. Must have been an air drop......from about 10,000ft.......

    20180402_161512.jpg

It's the right color. The box had "sand" on it as the color. I still have to unfold it to be sure everything else looks alright. From what little I saw, it seems fine. I got worried at first as they wrap the ends in a olive drab color fabric which had a rip in it.

It may be a while before I get to use mine. I traded in my Grand Cherokee for a Rubicon about two weeks ago. Until I can get a rack for it, It'll sit in storage.

Mine had two L brackets, but no hardware to bolt the brackets to the awning. Anyone got an idea on what size bolts to get to slide into the awning's track?

Off topic, but how are you liking your Trasharoo? I'd like to get one, but I've read the buckles are bad about breaking.

The hardware is inside the awning after you unzip it. You may have to dig for it, but it should be there.

I took a couple pics of the things I was concerned about. One being how far I could cheat it out to make the room bigger, how it would work with the canopy window and tailgate open. It took the better part of an hour to put it all together by myself the first time. There is a pole that has a button on it. I undid it to gain some slack putting the poles through the top. It’s really tight and takes some finagling to get it in place, after that it’s a breeze. It took 20 minutes by myself to take it all down and put it away. I left all the walls together except the one that slides the inside the grove on the awning. I laid it all out and placed that one on top of the others. Folded in half and rolled it up. Fit back in the bag with ease. I’m really happy with the quality. Hopefully I can take a quick trip up to the lake and stay the night in it tomorrow and test it out a little. Thanks again @SoCalTacos

Glad I sent it out correctly. I was worried for a bit there. Sorry about the UPS manhandling of the box.

Thanks for the solid review. I like hearing all the pros and cons of this awning/annex setup. I'm sure it's going to answer some questions others will have about it.

No need to apologize, unless you were driving the big brown truck. ;)

I too was surprised to find a 10mm gear wrench!

I forgot to post it here that mine arrived last Friday and I still haven’t installed it. I need to have someone weld the tabs on my bedrack to connect the brackets.

The packaging was fine when it arrived, I was just so excited to see it.:)

Took some measurements today for it all.

Going to see about having these built. Should give me the option to raise it so the walls don't tough the ground when deployed. Should clear the roof of the 80 by a inch or so when in "down" mode.
And give me 3" of raise (and moved back a predetermined distance which will let me open the driver door) when in "Up" mode.

Also got some straps made. Didn’t have enough black double ring loops for more than 2 straps. More on order.
Next rounds will have the buckle top strap shorter. I didn’t do my math right, or had another idea when getting the measurements.

This will allow the straps to stay on the awning when in use.
The bolts were spread out before tightened. This was just to get the picture of the back.

On the last picture it looks like you can't completely enclose with the annex even without a swing out. Would that be the case?

The wall is flexible enough and it’ll zip up just fine. Same way ShadowHunter had his on, just unzipped it. Which is how I could do it aswell.
