That's exactly what I did. It's listed on ebay as a VW key, has a 3rd button in the center. Works great.

Found out about that 2 months too late lol. Threw key away in March when it broke . In fact 1 min after it broke was in the rubbish lol. Was good though not having to deal with the fob .

    Hello,
Does anyone have one of these all in one (non-flip)keys that they no longer want. cut or uncut is good(chip doesnt matter) I just want the remote to put into a ebay shell if it is already cut. I should have bought two when i bought one a couple of years ago. It doesnt seem like they are available anywhere anymore.
    thanks

These are still available all over eBay. Just ordered one myself. Search for GQ43VT20D DOT. Pulls up at least 10 listings.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't know they started showing up.

I'd try this one, best price for the G chip and it's out of Taiwan where a lot of OEM parts are made (usually much better quality than China)

Got the key fob and key about a week ago. Had a local locksmith grind the key. Its not quite perfect, and will only turn in one orientation. This is due to the grind, but the guy only charged me 5 bucks to do it, and it required taking the key out of the fob to do so, so I felt bad about asking him to fix it.

I have a Tactrix that I use for my Subaru Legacy GT, and I used that, along with Techstream 12.0 to program the key. Worked fine, and there are a couple videos on youtube which help.

Keyfob was programmed per some other directions I found googling.

The whole thing feels pretty nice, and the key action is pretty solid. Very happy, and only cost 30ish bucks.

Good to know, thanks for the follow up.
$5 is about how much anyone charges to cut a key (including a dealer) - you should expect it to work right. I mean if you have to give him a couple more bucks it's worth it to have it right.

I'd normally agree, but I think disassembling the whole key fob, and then grinding the key is a lot of work for 5 bucks. And it works fine in the doors both ways, but for some reason will only turn in the ignition if the toyota symbol is up and the buttons are down. Its just not a big enough hassle for me to make the guy fix it.

Yes its possible. Costs 30ish bucks for the fob, depending who you buy it from. Be sure to buy the right one. Sorry, you'll have to read to find the info for which one is the right one. You'll need to program the key. A Tactrix is necessary, or access to a Toyota service system. And of course, someone to grind the key.

The dealer will not touch these generally.

    Cheers

I can find the all-in-one key on Ebay, and I can come up with $5 for a locksmith, but I don't have a Tactrix or an inside man at Toyota. Are there any other options for getting one of these programmed? Thanks.

My local locksmith had the software to program the ignition chip, charged about $50. Then I did the secret combination thing to get the remote lock / unlock programmed. I scanned those instructions and posted them a few pages back.

When y’all say all in one key, are you talking about the key with buttons on it or the flip key?

I’m really trying to find an all in one key with buttons on it that’ll work instead of using a remote + key or flip key.
