Hey, all. I'm getting ready for a trip through Death Valley and beyond. Been reading up on the horrors of the washboarded roads. I need to be able to carry two dirt bikes. I got to wondering about the strength of the bed floor with respect to anchor points. Has anyone ever experienced bed bending or pulling out from anchoring bikes like this picture shows? Truck is 1st Gen. I'm mostly interested in those front anchors since there's just a lot of bed floor there far from any bracing. The anchors shown are each backed up two 1 1/4 inch washers, one for each 3/8 carriage bolt. Strategy is to cinch the bikes down on their suspensions so they aren't bouncing (too much). If this seems iffy, I can add bracing underneath and spread out the load. Thanks.
