2008 single cab with only 94000 mls had no issue with the Truck thanks to ready this board.

But now after installing a 2.75 lift kit with different spring rate, I developed a rattle only going over bumps.[IMG]

Has anyone ever had this problem, im I looking at ripping dash apart to fix this if so is there a sticky on the subject?

    thanks for any help.

I was putting paper in window to try to change sound but no luck

I have read several threads about dash board noise. Believe it or not, they discovered that there were cracks in the mudflaps, taped them up temporarily and the "dash noise" went away. My son and I just replace u joints on his '09 and I noticed that there were cracks in his flaps and then saw these threads later. I passed the info onto him wondering if he had dash noise but haven't heard back yet. Your flaps may have gotten damaged when the lift kits were installed.

One member also found a noise made by his radio bezel. He removed it, applied some double sided tape or a single sided foam. Something like that

    • Radio bezel is out and still makes noise

I had heard that it is the whole top dash piece that has plastic clips. The clips are covered with a black felt type material to keep them from squeaking but it is not enough material, you need to add something else to the clips. Some people buy foam draft tubing and shove it down between the windshield and the dash, but that did not work for me. I just haven't felt like pulling the top of the dash to try and wrap those clips.

    HA!
I’m pretty sure why the previous owner of my truck only had it for nine months, my dash squeaks like crazy!

This is what I found after pulling dash off, i also pulled the female part to the pin an put sound deadening material on them.
I tighten and glued all fasteners on dash with plastic glue.

Assembled back together and super Quiet, Not as hard as I thought the pdf made it very easy, one thing is you have to remove the side pillars to remove dash but no problem at all I tapped all fasteners to the holes when removing parts.

I also put thin foam around pins, around the felt that was already there.

I may need to try this. I've eliminated quite a bit by pulling the shift trim off and putting felt tape along mating edges. I also did the filler rod trick between the dash and windshield. The combination of these two things eliminated 80-90% of the noises that were bothering me. Just need to work on the radio bezel (should be easy) and the window rattle when partially rolled down.

Great it's not hard just time consuming if you follow the pdf. its very system matic.

I purchased felt tape from Amazon. http://a.co/dJOxVC0

I just did my glove box bottom hinge and top part.
also the sides of a drop in organizer insert.

    very Quiet now :fingerscrossed:
