So I recently upgraded from 33' to 35" and I can no longer fit a spare tire underneath the bed of the truck. Occasionally I'll get underneath the truck for something and I keep thinking there has to be some other use for that area.

TW members are some of the craftiest people out there, and I'm sure someone has come up with some ingenious storage solution use for down there. If you've done something creative drop a picture. If not, maybe drop an idea. Maybe if we brainstorm a good idea we can convince a fabricator here to build something for us?

I would utilize the chain, and fit a good size watertight box, with all of my recovery stuff in there....basically 4 way cable bolted to the top of the box, so it could be lowered for access.

If I ever get a swingout, I plan to put a water tank and pump down there for.

When the rear tires are buried in muck you won't be able to get to your recovery gear.

I would do an auxiliary fuel tank or something of that nature. Or you can make some James Bond anti pursuit countermeasures like some tire spikes in a little box that opens with a button.

I've thought about a tank, but so far have no use for one. I have an ARB dual compressor mounted in my bed cubby already. Pumps good without the tank.

That's exactly what I'm envisioning. I want to be able to store some extra gear down there.

Yeah, my recovery gear is accessible as of now. I'm envisioning some type of storage box that can hold extra truck parts. U-bolts and such.

What gauge wire did you run from the engine bay for that? 4awg?

It was a complete wiring harness I purchased Expedition Essentials. I’m not 100% what gauge it is. I’ll try to find out what it is and get back to you.

Awesome CB setup, TRD leaf springs, matching camper shell...more to come some day.
I think a fuel tank would be best.

There's a few in the overland trailer thread. None showing the fuel tank though

That sir is a crafty idea. I never would've thought about putting another battery back there. Good stuff.
