So I haven't really gotten a definitive answer from here, YouTube, or elsewhere yet, but I know it can be done.

2015 TRD Off-Road. Non JBL. OEM Entune with no card slot. Haven't been able to register the unit using the VIN (thinking it was already done by the previous owner).

I'm looking to either upgrade to a better Entune system that includes Nav, or get an aftermarket head unit that supports Nav or Android Auto.

    So my questions are:

    1) Is there a way to add Nav to my existing unit and avoid all the headaches that come with pulling apart the dash?

    2) If not, can Entune Premium Units be purchased, and will it fit/be compatible with my truck since it is wired up for the lower level unit?

    3) If all that is not viable and aftermarket is the way to go, what are suggestions for units that people are liking and don't require a massive amount of rewiring to install?

    Thanks guys and gals!

    1) No way to upgrade your unit to nav

    2) I highly doubt all the wiring it present needed for the higher end entune units. They would be pretty expensive even if it was possible.

    3) Aftermarket is absolutely the way to go. None of them will involve much (if any) modification to the factory wiring. kenwood dnx574s and pioneer avic-8201nex are two good options on the cheaper side. the pioneer is going to come with a camera. i usually hook this up as a front camera if you already have a backup cam.

If you buy an in dash nav, be sure it includes traffic and lifetime updates. Free and easy.

    Like a Garmin portable has.

Get ready to drop a pretty penny on units that do traffic. You specified wanting android auto and using google maps (or Waze on certain units) handles the traffic scenario pretty good. But at possible cost of using your cell data (does waze use data? I don’t know. I have unlimited so I’ve never cared. Your results may vary)
