What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

you can run a snorkel with an OEM intake and the blower.

Idk if its worth it or not

 

probably not for performance reasons. but maybe for cleaner air. i still have my stock air intake but the tube is broken at the joint to the box was hoping i could use just the snorkel but i doubt it unless i can get it filtered

Good point. You got a hell of a deal at 2k. Something like that would go for at least 4 grand where I'm at. I love that 4.7, great motor.

 

Even with the extra weight that motor surprised me compared to my 3.4. Smogged it today register and insure it tomorrow

It makes a healthy amount of power. My family has a 2003 4runner with the 4.7 and it's deceptively powerful and quick. Plus it gets better gas mileage than my 3.4.

 

Don't tell me that I let the wife drive it and now she wants to sell her Chevy to buy it from me

 

I say let her do it. One less Chevy is never a bad thing

 

Same...always find some shit to replace, rebuild, on this 1st gen.

 

Any one here have any ideas how you gain access to the bearing in a pulley like this, there are two pieces pressed in either side to set it's depth on the bracket it holds onto and the one on the front is essentially something for the bolt to hold onto. I cannot for the life of me figure out how I'd go about pressing these apart becasue they're three pieces front - bearing - back. After those are out I can probably figure out how to get the bearing out of the pulley body. Anyone... bueller?

It's a lowered 2rz powered 5 lug with the front clip removed for show car duties.

A fast street truck is the plan for my 5-lug. The people who do that to a Tacoma is taking the term street truck to a whole new level though.

 

But it's a square body. Time to find a lift
