I nto wherever you want but into either a natural low spot or runt to the street is the usual location. Normal weep holes may not work too well if the group d is frozen.

Ok dumb question but before I lay this out, can the "french drain" or weeping tile system lead away from garage to basically some random spot below grade in my back yard?

Basically my garage car port door faces the i the lane (asphalt lane), so from what Im picturing, ill lay the system in on 3 sides and then lead it away from the slab.

We use a rock pit here sometimes , yes

You want to make sure that the percability of the soil will allow for enough absorption though

Run it to daylight then, basically an extended gutter extension. I have a low spot next to my house, flooded like crazy when it rained. I did a buried extension and push the water into the yard with it. No freeze concerns here though.

Proper grading solves 99% of water issues though and all it takes is moving a little dirt.

Got a pic of what you're dealing with?

Yes that was one of my concerns too.
But given the ideas here Id say its my only option. Without getting into some nasty curb and flashing detail Id say trenching will be the way I go

Yep, you have at best neutral grading. When the ground thaws I'd be moving some dirt. You can do a lot with a rototiller and a rake ut a rented bobcat would be easier. You want your ground level lower than your slab and sloping away from the building.

Youre also missing some trim in the inside corner pic. You have a leaky envelope as it sits.

I wonder how much of your ground water is coming from the roof and not what's next to the structure? I'd try gutters and move that water away as a first resort.

We're just a plethora of good news

But if they used treated lumber as the sill you should be ok. And if the put a barrier layer between the wood and concrete even better.

My floor and perimeter drains run out to the municipality ditch...after 3 tries and several thousand dollars. 6 inch big "O", sump pump is just for keeping the insurance company happy. Never any water infiltration in 15 years. Before that 1 inch over the basement floor every couple of years when the power would go out for a day.

Just 12" of fall to use in 450 feet, but works fine. JUst needed a BFhammer on the excavator to knock some trench spots in the limestone. Best money ever spent.
