Just bought a 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 with 829 miles on it. Perfect condition. Double cab short bed and has tow package and I don’t think its even been farted in yet. Price was 33.9k. Traded in my 2004 SR5 PreRunner. Had 203k miles, dented rear bumper, left rear quarter panel, and two BB gun holes in the right front and got $5500 for it as a trade. I figured theyd only give me $3500 for it, so that was a nice surprise.

    hey y'all,

im in the early stages of pricing a Tacoma (my 1st) and a local dealership here in central Texas has an SR5 4x4 CPO with 20k miles listed for right at 30k, not including TTL. What is a decently reasonable price for this model? The same dealership has a TRD for 32k with the same miles, so i'm thinking of shooting for ~26-27000?

Looking at a leftover brand new 2017 4x4 TRD Off road Auto Longbed - No real options except for the standard tow pack and floor mats for 35k OTD. I am in California. Is that still an OK price with the 18s all over the lot?

You should be able to get a better deal than that or least try to get one. Get a 2018 instead with the option you wanted I got 2017 DCSB MGM premium and technology +JBL package for $39407 OTD. California too, does options will be a deal breaker for you?but if you are happy with it go for it

Looks like your deal is just about the same % off of MSRP. I don't care for the options too much but really prefer the DCSB. I found a DCSB OR with the same option as yours for 40k OTD. I guess I'll wait since I am not desperate.

Patience is the key. And you can always broaden your search area, we do have a lot of Toyota dealers here in CA. The MSRP of the truck I got is $42500, give them your price and walk out if they say they cannot do it.

From what I’ve been hearing deals on 2017s are pretty much a thing of the past due to Toyota stating you can’t lift a 2018 . Supply and demand for 2017 has gone up and I suspect this means minimal discounts for 2017s because if you don’t buy it someone else will buy it.

Not sure if this is true but I say do what you can afford.

    18s can be lifted.

Your right they can be, but will you after a dealer tells you not to and threatens to void your warranty? That’s the issue. I would still lift it, but some people are cautious and hence put a demand back on the 17s.

I picked up a brand new 2017 SR DCSB 4x4 in Barcelona red with the tow package, convenience package, and floor liners for $30600 plus DMV fees today. That does includes winterization for Alaska, meaning adding an oil pan heater, battery heater, and changing the oils/fluids as needed for running at -40F and colder.

Love my new truck! I think I did pretty well on the deal too, considering it’s the only Toyota dealer for 400 miles.
