This is more of a technology question than anything.

Where does the "HD Traffic" data come from? I'm guessing it is some sort of free FM signal? Government Funded?

And along this note, did I hear my tacoma warn me of a cop on the shoulder ahead this morning? It may have been my phone talking to me, but pretty sure it was the entune.

My understanding is that all traffic updates come from your radios fm stations that are HD. If you get to an area that has no HD signal you lose your traffic updates. That might explain your "cop warning" most likely some traffic jockey at a radio station.

You are better off using Google Maps or Waze if you want up to date traffic information.

That's why I love Waze on my upgraded head unit display.

Gotcha. Good to know. So I wasn't hearing things with that cop warning then!?! Nice!

I concur. For accuracy, Waze/Google will be my go to. I just REALLY like the visual integration in the screen and speedo area with the entune maps. Yeah, I could mount my phone someplace visible, but I'd rather not do that.

My bigger hurdle right now is that to hear Waze on the truck speakers, I have to use the Blutooth audio......however, I then can't listen to the FM radio at the same time. I CAN, howver listen to FM and use entune nav at the same time.

Check and see if you can stream your favorite FM stations through iHeart Radio...that way you'll still get the alerts through Waze if you stream via Bluetooth or through the Entune app.
