Toyota Frame Settlement Postcard

Here is the manual for the the frame swap. Read through it. If those parts were coming off because of the frame swap and they broke, it is their problem not yours. They replaced my gas tank guard because it broke when the gas tank straps failed. They had me continue to drive the truck after the frame failed the inspection, which they shouldn’t have. If your truck fails they are required to give a rental that day. The straps failed in between the failed inspection and my frame being delivered to the dealer. Any and all parts needing to be replaced because of the frame swap is their problem.

I took my 2007 Tacoma in today for some minor work only to have them call and tell me that my frame failed inspection and needed to be replaced. One is on order. In reviewing the court settlement, on page 5 it states "...the frame will be replaced, as well as all applicable parts and service items incidental to frame replacement, such as cables, harnesses, pipes, clamps, tubes, hoses, spare tire carrier, spare tire carrier plate, bolts, brackets,
and wires and all fluids will be replaced, as required.”

 

Ok so I'm just now seeing stuff like this. I own an 05. How do I get this inspected? Will it cost me?

 

Call your trusted Toyota dealership and make an appointment. Doesn't cost anything.

 

This thread is so long and filled with multiple posts of the same questions. If people would read the thread before asking questions it wouldn’t be so long. Just saying…

 

That's a lot to read and a lot of BS to siphon through. But yeah the same question over and over again does end up making a lot of excess jabber.

 

Mine is the same and they passed it . Dealership said that was normal !

 

Mine looked like that also they said that does not fail (delamination) only a hole is 10mm or bigger.
ANYONE TAKEING A TRUCK IN FOR FRAME INSOECTION crawl under your truck,passenger side where the frame comes down and goes back on the inside. Get a ball peen hammer and give the frame some taps if it sounds dull give it a harder hit. This is toyotas procedure. Give your self piece of mine weather you a good, bad or maybe.
It's YOUR truck you are allowed to hit it with a hammer if you want.just my .02

 

if only Toyota cared about the safety of the people that bought their products!!!

 

This lawsuit is filed against the dealership and not Toyota.

 

3 dealerships actually as well as Toyota Canada

 

From what he described in the lawsuit it was the dealership that didn't perform their work properly and don't know how he can group the dealerships with Toyota when they are a seperate entity. I would think it would need to be a separate lawsuit.

 

Update - Dealer called me last week to let me know all the parts are in so I could bring my truck in. Dropped her off Monday morning and already got her back. Not sure if I am impressed at the speed of their work or if I am worried that they rushed through it and fouled some stuff up. So far so good, but I've only drive it a few miles. I did have them replace the Rack & Pinion while they had her all tore up which ended up saving me about $400-500 on labor. Those of you who have had the work done, what has been some common problems you've seen after the repairs were completed?

I have refused a couple of Toyotas offers from there lawyers, first offer was 5000 and I keep my truck second offer was 6000 and I keep my truck. So I guess I will be seeing them in court.

 

You mean instead of a frame replacement ?

 

nope, my frame has been replaced, I am suing them for repairing a write off and leaving me with a un merchantable vehicle with outstanding recalls and manufactures defects for approx 540 days, from the day they covered up the dangerous defect to the day the frame was replaced.
