Gunny got back to me with a quote for the TSB parts a few days back. I told him to hold off for now for a few reasons. One being that people on here have been saying the dampers on back order. I guess I should have asked if he has any available. Could be possible? Ha

I originally purchased the 2017 Tacoma because I had such good luck with my 96 Tacoma. Bought a bigger trailer this spring and needed a larger truck to pull it. In addition, my eldest daughters knees were hitting in the back of my seat. I called Toyota to discuss getting out of my lease and getting into a Tundra but they didn’t give me the time of day. Ford was happy to put me in one of their vehicles. I really enjoyed driving the manual transmission in the Taco, but I had to weigh all my options. So I upgraded.....simple as that.

The 2018 is a Ecoboost 3.5.....so far it’s smooth as hell, cab is quiet. Ford bought out my lease for $29,500, the payoff on the truck was $30,9120, so I lost $1400 on the deal. I feel that was well worth it considering I wasn’t gonna keep the Taco after the lease was done. My original plan was to, but things changed. And the throttle hesitation from a stop is a fuck up on Toyota’s part, that’s why OVTune has made like a half million off of his product. More than once pulling out into traffic and the hesitation made things a little dicey. Sad to see the Taco go, wish I could have both but that’s not in the cards.

When life changes, priorities change.....if I didnt want the Tacoma I would not have leased it. After owning it for a year and a half, I realized it was not the truck for me and my family. Not that hard to understand....you make it sound like I’m trolling here. Just wanted to let people know there was a slightly used rare Manual available....

Congrats on the new truck (loved my 2015 F-150), but you might double check what motor you have if you think you have a 3.5 Eco. They should have badges on both doors and it looks like you have a FlexFuel badge on your tailgate, both of which are signs it’s a 5.0 (which is a great motor - that’s what I had in mine). Not trying to doubt you, just don’t want you to get screwed if you thought you got an Eco and got a 5.0.

I double checked, it says Ecoboost on the tailgate and the motor has it on the cover. Drove the V8, was great, very smooth but I didn’t want a higher reving motor when towing out west over the Rockies......no more badges on the doors for the 2018’s....just on the tailgate. Thanks for the advice!

That’s good info! Best of luck with the F-150!

For 2018 Ford moved the ecoboost badge to the tailgate and there's only one now. They found a way to cut costs by eliminating one badge.
